Devo for 04/13/2025 service- Message by Pastor Clint Sprague
I think we can all agree the “Seeds” series has been a great one, and offered us all a chance to dive into the concept of sowing and reaping: What we sow, we will reap!
We were reminded that God invites each one of us to experience the Power that comes with reaping and sowing. In past messages, we learned that this Power we experience comes with rewards that are commensurate with our actions:
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 2 Corinthians 9:6
Growing good fruit depends on how good the soil is and the kind of seeds we plant. As Pastor Clint said. “One seed can become an apple orchard, a wheat field, or even a greenhouse full of beautiful flowers.”
As Sons of God, we do have a charge to go out and sow good seed. We can sow this seed into our own hearts, into others, and into the world!
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 5:37-38
Here are some ways we can plant seeds:
Encourage someone
Tell someone your testimony
Invite someone to coffee and listen to them
Show someone, by your actions, that you are working unto the Lord
Tell someone about Jesus
Serve someone
Forgive someone
Give grace to someone
Invite someone to church
So here is the challenge to all of us:
Commit to planting at least 1 seed each week for the next month
Then share your experience with someone. (In doing so, you might just encourage them to sow a seed or two!!)
Don’t forget to invite God into your day!
