Devo for 03/30/2025 service- Message by Pastor Clint Sprague
Pastor Clint was back and brought a powerful message as we continue with the “Seeds” sermon series. This is week 4 of the series.
Pastor Clint started the message talking about a basket of fruit he had on the platform with him. Explaining how the fruit grew from seeds from the same fruit that was sown into good soil. The representation was that seeds that are sown will bear good fruit if the soil is good (our hearts) and the seed is good (the Word of God). He used this illustration to talk about the fact that we will reap what we allow to be sown in our hearts.
I found myself drawn to this idea of the fruit in our lives when Pastor Clint asked, “What fruit is in our basket?” and he followed this up with “What fruit do we want in our basket?” Do we want the fruit of the Spirit, or the fruit of the flesh in our basket (heart)? The obvious answer is we want the good fruit, the fruit that God promises us in Galatians:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law". Galatians 5:22-23
The fruit Paul is talking about is a gift given by God to bless us and allow us to live the life He set for us. But we have to be prepared to receive the gifts. We have to prepare the soil, our hearts, to receive good seed, the Truth, so God’s gift of the fruit of the Spirit can flourish in our lives.
So, what fruit do you have in your basket? What fruit do you want in your basket? The best way to answer these questions is to spend time in the presence of God and ask Him if you have each of these “fruits” in your basket:
Love Goodness
Joy Faithfulness
Peace Gentleness
Patience Self-Control
Kindness
In your conversation with Him, listen well. If there are any areas where you find yourself lacking or struggling, press into the Lord and let Him walk with you as you work through it. Do not miss out on this unbelievable blessing God has given you!
Don’t forget to invite God into your day!

My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger
